AnimeNext 2013

I stopped blogging for 2 months because I was so busy prepping for AnimeNext. After the convention I became super absorbed in Animal Crossing New Leaf. This game is bringing out the dormant beast in me. I'm possibly more glued to it than Wild World, which I dedicated about 3 years to.

SO.... AnimeNext 2013...was about a month ago actually. I got a table in the Artist Alley to sell art and stuff. I was so stressed the month prior since the only times I could work on my art was after work. I pretty much stayed up till 2am every night to draw or make some something.

I had soooo much fun even though I pretty much sat through all of it. My friends really helped me out A LOT! I also got to meet some really cool artists.

This was my table.
Day 1, I was Chitanda from Hyouka. Day 2, I was moe Homura. Day 3, I was a maid.
Looking at this picture now my table looks kind of messy. I was making those Vocaloid key chains throughout the day. This was Saturday.

The following are the pictures I managed to take. I wish I took more though.

Lumpy Space Princess
oh my globbb. LSP

HOME STUCKKKKKKK

AHHHHH so cool!
I didn't realize the Kanaya and Grim Rose were also Rose God Tier and Jade the next day. Oops...

Spirited Away and Totoro

 Really cute....

 SAILORMOON
I thought Helios was the cutest anime boy in the world when I was a kid.

Madoka Cosplay

Godoka

Persona 4

I made a gender bent button of You so it was nice seeing a cosplay of it.
There were a bunch of P4 cosplayers. I managed to snag only a few pics.

How cool is this?! Roshi and Ox King
IROH!!!
Dante (DMC 3)
Hanji from SnK.
I think there were about a handful of Kyojin cosplayers. There were probably a lot at AnimeExpo.

Flynn Rider
Yoko Genderbent (Gurren Lagann)

Last Picture

I did get a few chances to walk around. I walked by the BTSSB booth and snapped this group pic. Well actually someone else was taking a picture I just snapped one on the fly. I was thisssss close to Isobe.

I would definitely try to get a table again next year. Since New York Comic Con did not work out I guess next year I'll try for more possibly even Anime Expo. Dx

Japan Haul

I have been busy so I did not get a chance to post anything. I get so tired after work. =A=

My sister came back from Japan over a week ago.  She went to Japan and Hong Kong for 2 weeks. I have not even seen her vacation photos yet to be honest.
I was also kind of jealous because I always wanted to go to Asia but I'm scared of airplanes! I'm also poor 8(

I told her to definitely try the ufo machines there. They have awesome limited prizes and stuff! I also said I liked cute anime girls and gashapon. So the following are pics of the souvenirs she got me!

I got a lot of One Piece items. I gave her a list of potential gifts. I just kind of hoped for Madoka things because as much as I like One Piece, I think Madoka has captured my soul!

The following pictures are just a break down of the items, such as un-boxing and opening things!

From Sasa!
I like how in my last post I said I didn't have enough false eyelashes to fill the eyelash case. Now I have more than enough. This stuff was from Hong Kong actually. The rest are from Japan.

Nameko Funghi!
I played Touch Detective 1 and 1.5 (the sequel) I never knew the pet character would balloon into it's own franchise starting with the app. I think he's super cute and so marketable. I asked for Funghi themed items.  She got me one key chain, a stuffed trio plush and a figure. It's the snow bunny one.

EHHEHEEEHEHEHEHE
I love blind box things. They are such a nice surprise. I am also happy with the ones I got. I think my sister is more lucky than I am when it comes to these. I got 1 Franky from the middle Half Age Characters, 1 Boa Hancock and Bonney.

This is a secret item!
This one is not even on the box! She's sooooo cute and she has Luffy's hat. HNGGGGGGG.
Bonney.
I forgot to shoot a picture of Franky oops. He's actually still wrapped up. I might sell him actually.

The following are all the gashapons!
Upa from Steins Gate
I'm surprised they make these. Too bad it's not the metal one but still cute!

I don't know much about this series. I know there's a bunch of figurines around. I'm just sad she's missing a piece. She is suppose to be wearing a skirt. :(

Project Mirai and a Vocaloid Collab? I don't know much but I suppose it's a Good Smile/Danny Choo thing. They do that cool 3D stuff. This  is like a metal flat back of Miku. I have no use for this so I will sell this too.
Okay this is the coolest one hands down! You sticker the faces and then you snap the pieces together. Based on the boxy fold-able characters from Graphig. I think it;s nicer that this is made of plastic and not paper!
What it looks like completed.
Chopper!
More One Piece! Blue colored Chopper on a macaron.

This is like those Rement mini models but in key chain form.

From Danganronpa. I do not know much again. I have seen this a larger scale figure of this made by Good Smile.

More Boa!

This was in the largest ball! I put all her pieces together. Her stand can be connected to the other characters as well.
Boa is one of my fav One Piece girls so I am satisfied with this haul. Sadly I need more room to accommodate all these new beauties!
I did not take pictures of the snacks she bought back. Most of them have been consumed har har har!

Springfest 2013

Ack! I missed my once a week blogging quota. I was busy with many many things and for a week I wasn't home due to work. My work schedule is super weird. I guess that's what happens with freelancing. Also I have been sick since after SpringFest.

This entry will probably be a rehash of my deviantArt one (just more detailed with pictures).

Springfest! What is Springfest? It's a college run anime convention. It's rather small compared to comic con or as school cons go. Initially it was a one day convention, but this year it was 2 days.
The traffic this year was around a thousand people per day. It's become more popular over the years actually, but it was my first time there.

The dealer's room or artist alley was in a small room. I thought it would have been in the gymnasium, but there was volley ball practice going on. I'm familiar with this college since I graduated from it. The dealer's room was where large classes took finals and midterms. The table was a lot smaller than I expected. Normally it's around 6 feet and I bought enough pvc pipes for a 6ft table. Luckily it still worked out.
The tables were also wooden and scratched up. We had to run out and get a table cloth since it was very unappealing.

My table.
There were a handful other artists and dealers selling anime merchandise. The artists were mostly near the doorway. I sat across from one of the dealers. They had so many things *^* Another artist was next to me. We barely spoke to each other. He was more of an American comic hero artist. Behind me were 2 more tables and then along the wall was about 5 or 6. Near the doorway were another 2 tables. I barely left my seat to see the rest of the con though.

I had about 4 new prints (Godoka, Homestuck, Mirai Chan, Pokemon XY Starters) since comic con in October, wonder nyan stickers, 2 new vocaloid keychains (cul and aoki lapis), buttons and rings.
The rings were experimental. I had a lot of cabochons and I wasn't sure what to do with them.
I also bought a button maker last year so I put it to use!

I met some really really nice artists which I am super happy about. I even friend-ed her on facebook haha. I admire her life style very much. I would also like to just go to conventions every weekend to sell art and meet other artists.

Charlotte and Peron!
Chopper
I didn't get to take many pics.  Here's 2 I found on my phone! I was suprised to see a human form Charlotte. Next to her is Peron from One Piece. The other is Chopper!

Next up ANIMENEXT!
Next entry will be a guide/review on Eggling!
