2014 Fukubukuro Part I

The Fukubukuro or lucky bag/pack season is/was upon us. Not really a season...more like a month from the end of December to the new year. You buy yourself a bag of mysteries for a set price and hope for the best! Sometimes if you are lucky you can get something rare and expensive. This year was my first time participating in this competitive online shopping sport. The following are what I received so far!

Metamorphose Dark Lucky Pack

I had no idea what I was getting. I really did not want a cutesy print. I purchased a dark set for 10,500円/YEN. Shipping was around 20 or 30 USD. This was the image on the Meta website.

This is what I recieved....

a white blouse, necklace, a bow clip, socks, a bag and the exact skirt I did not want!

It's really not that bad. This is just not my taste. I'm all for prints just not this cutesy stuff.

I thought for a while about this blouse. I tried it on and was put off by how sheer it was. It works great under a dress though. I have yet to try. I decided to keep this. It is light which is a plus for me!

The following are the accessories. I do not have much to say about them.

I am not a big fan of this bag. I would have preferred a canvas tote. It feels really flimsy and is very wrinkly.
I did not have a nice picture of the socks.

Overall I was not very happy with this. I have the worst luck when it comes to blind box items and stuff like this. I plan on selling the socks and the skirt.

**Update! If you like the skirt you can buy it here >> Ebbi Time Goods <<**

Alice and the Pirates

This was the set I wanted!

I had to wake up at 4am! I set my alarm and ended up waking before it because my friend texted me. We both woke up just to snag a bag. The website kept crashing. I was on the brink of giving up after the thousandth refresh. SOMEHOW I was able to get to the checkout page and got this baby. It came shortly before the new years too!

A giant box came in one day and inside was this blue Alice and the Pirates bag.

I unloaded the contents and there was no surprise. I got what I wanted!

This set made me super happy. I pretty much liked everything. Here is a picture of the JSK.

Close up of print

The blouse was nice. I have not much to say about it. This picture does it no justice. It fits is all that matters!! The following are the accessories.

Bodyline Cosplay & Lolita Pack

I did not receive these yet. I am not very excited and bracing for the worst. I remember reading about their past packs and they were not good. I am expecting the worst like lingerie in like 4XL and their sexy (not so sexy) halloween costumes.

Coming soon! Can't wait for this!

So far I purchased 5 myself. Two came surprisingly fast. I got my Metamophose tracking email yesterday but I received my package a lot earlier.

Welcoming 2014 with a Giant Missha Post!

It's been a while since my last post. I have been so busy with work and life in general.

I wanted to do these reviews a while back, but things got in the way. So today I decided to make a massive review post of several Missha products I bought in 2013. These reviews will be kind of short and based on my own experiences. I am no expert. If you want a more thorough review I suggest searching each product individually.

Some of these pictures are blurry and macro. Pardon the excess use of Photoshop. I recently got a new camera and I am still not too sure how to use it exactly.

I will cover these products. Starting with......

Loose Powder:

Art Designing - the style art designing sebum-cut pact
Color: No. 2 Clear Peach

Honestly I was not sure what this was by the name at first. Later I looked into it and found out it was an oil controlling powder. It's suppose to keep your face matte and less shiny. The packaging is super cute.

The powder was a bit too pale for my skin type. It does not provide coverage.
It did not exactly blend well on my face either. Looked as if I put flour on my face.

Not sure if you can tell here but it's almost as if I rubbed a light pink chalk on my hand.

Verdict: Would work better on other people. It also comes in mint green for more red tinted skin tones.

Liquid Foundation:

M Prism Fitting Glow Foundation
Color No. 21 (Light Beige)

I love love love love how it looks. Beautiful compact! This is a liquid foundation. It supposedly whitens, is anti-wrinkles, and has UV protection.
You have to push down for the foundation to surface onto the applicator puff. This gets kind of annoying. I am not fond of this type of pump action. I also have no idea how much is in there actually.

This color did not work with my skin tone. It made my face look gray. I tried it on several times to give it a chance, but it made my skin look darker. My skin tone might be too pale for this. I do not have a sample picture of it applied on my face.

Here is an example of what it looks like on my hand though. There's a little dab of it on my hand. I also blended it right under that dab, but it's difficult to see. On my hand it's not so bad. It's a darker shade though.

Verdict:  A lighter shade might work better on me. The coverage is quite sheer.

Night Creams and Moisturizers:
For a while I was using a Clinique and Cerave as night time lotions. My face gets super dry after I wash it. I stopped using cerave because of parabens. The Clinique one got too heavy and oily for my face. I shopped around and found these guys.

Time Revolution Aqua Youth Cream

For the time I was using this cream it was very hydrating.  It has a nice scent. It was kind of greasy though. A greasy feel stayed around till its fully absorbed. This was pretty much a normal moisturizer.
This cream did not work for me. It made me break out several times after usage. I stopped using it and switched to the marine forest cream.

Verdict: Nope.

Super Aqua Marine Forest Recovery Cream

I liked this cream a lot. It's hydrating and is not sticky or greasy.
It smells somewhat similar to the Aqua Youth Cream. It is a transparent gel cream. It retains its jelly form even after you dig through it. It eventually molds back together as if untouched like MAGIC!
You use the tiny spatula included to scoop a bit up.

I did it's job of hydrating. I cannot say if my face was lighter or more clearer since I do have a pale skin and I'm not acne prone.

Verdict: Does it's job. It would be better if it came in a bigger jar.

Time Revolution Night Repair -  Science Activator Ampoule

I got this for free with purchase. I have 2 of them. One is from a recent order. The only difference between these 2 is probably packaging and the word NEW.

It has a nice honey color. It runs kind of goopy. The scent is not too strong. There is a sticky feeling after applying but it eventually gets fully absorbed. I like this product. It's keeps my face moisturized and my face does look a bit brighter the next morning.

Verdict: It's nice. I would use this again in the future. No breakouts!

Super Aqua - Cell Renew Snail Cream

Winner of 2013! I got the set that comes with the sleeping mask.
I love this. I like the scent of it too. This is possibly the best moisture I have used from Missha. It's very hydrating and my face actually got softer. I had some scarring that also diminished. It does not leave a sticky film on your skin. It feels refreshing. It looks like mucus for the most part but glides on so smoothly. Looking at it reminded me of my pet snails. Sadly I am all out of this. I am waiting for the larger skin care set.

Super Aqua - Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask

The sleeping mask does not feel like its counterpart cream. It's thicker and feels more like paste. I use this now since I'm all out of snail cream. It keeps my face moisturized. It does stay rather sticky on my face though. I have it on right now.
My face is all soft and squishy.

Verdict: You got to try it! BOTH OF THEM!

Cleansers:
I mainly used Clean and Clears or Neutrogena face washes in the past. During my makeup frenzy I decided to try Missha brands.

Super Aqua - Refreshing Cleansing Foam

This cleanser came out of the tube like tooth paste. Once you apply it you it turns to foam. I just rub it on with my hands and massage it on my face. It does it's job as a cleanser. I do not  have much to say about this. It wasn't overly harsh on the skin and did not dry it out. Foam cleansers are suppose to be less harsh. I just need something to get that grime off my face after a day of work. I cannot say if it helped my skin because I did not notice a difference.

Verdict: I would get this again.

Super Aqua - Anti Trouble Formula

This thing right here dries out my face after use. I still use it now because I am out of cleanser. A little bit of moisturizer helps after I use this anyways. It does not really foam. Just comes out like shampoo. I squeeze a bit onto a konjac sponge and scrub away. My face does feel cleaner after it but still it dries my face afterwards.

Verdict: I will switch to a more foam cleanser after this is over.

Toners:
I have been using Clinique's Step 2 clarifying lotion in purple as a toner. I am not used to other tones but have tried the following two.

Time Revolution - The First Treatment Essence

I got this as gift with purchase. I used it as a toner. Since it is an essence it also moisturizes.
It smells like yeast. Granted it is made from yeast. The smell stays on your face for a while.
I use this after I wash my face in the morning. It is sticky for a bit. My face does feel moisturized after usage. Overall not much of a difference.

Verdict: I only used this because it was free. Would I buy it in the future? Probably not.

Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment

Opps I forgot to take a picture of this.
I had no idea this was a toner when I got it in the mail. Looked more like a clear lotion. It comes out kind of  thick but as you apply onto your face it feels like water. I'm currently using this. I guess it gets the job done. It has a nice scent that is not overpowering at all. I put it on a cotton pad and pat away all over my face every morning. My face does stay moisturized for the rest of the day. Not sure if it's because of usage or my face oils just take over.

Verdict: It's okay. I might want to switch back to the Clinique one because I feel cleaner after using it. I also liked seeing the morning grime on the pad after I wiped my face.

Eye Cream:

Missha Geum Sul Eye Cream

Ooo ahh~ So pretty. I love the cap. It's so shiny. According to the packaging it's a wrinkle repair and can whiten.

It is super thick. There are also tiny gold flakes in it. It stays kind of thick and sticky on the skin for the rest of the night. I used it on my eyelids too. I recommend night time use only. I would not use this in the morning. It's way too thick and heavy.
I think it's doing it's job of whitening. I have seen my dark circles get lighter.

Verdict: I would use this again. I got their 2.0 version stashed in my drawer for this year once this is used up.

Well it's currently Jan 2nd now. I went a bit over time with this post. Till next time. My vacation is over and back to work for me 8(
